Claudio Bravo And Morocco by Janis Gardner Cecil

This was my first Claudio Bravo book, because at the time I could not afford the gigantic monograph of his work. So for two years, I would lovingly peruse the pages of this book.

And my work in 2009 was very directly influenced by the paintings found in this book. I was struck by the quietude of his paintings. It did not matter if the paintings were still life or figurative pieces, I was calmed by them.

The quality of texture and light was so captivating, that I could not help but try to emulate it…
