Last week I announced my new annual art project “Daily Works on Paper”, and as part of this project I will post a weekly update of what I have created.

This week has been especially hectic, so I have had to work on some pieces over 2+ days.  So even though it is my goal to complete a piece a day, my ultimate goal is to show up every day and chip away at these creations on paper.  Slow and steady is always best in my mind

With this project, I am deliberately stretching my skills.  In that I am working a lot from imagination.  I am creating the piece from memory or adapting an idea and changing it to express the idea and feeling I want to express.

I work so much from direct observation and I want these daily exercises to stretch my abilities while capturing my unique vision of the world.

This scene was made after thinking of past winter images and the remembrance of the Disney cartoon “Once Upon a Wintertime” popped into my head.  I used to watch this winter ice skating cartoon as a kid, it was a favorite of mine.  This tiny piece was conjured up and I tried my hand at it.

This scene of a Labrador on a braided rug in front of a fire with knitted stockings is a story I would love to experience.  I don’t have a dog now, but I grew up with labs.  I have never had knitted stockings to hand on the mantle, but wouldn’t it be nice to have them?

I love big Christmas trees, and lots of presents and the idea of playing Santa.  This piece has all of that plus the traditional interior of blue-gray walls and a pretty mantle with a big painting hung above.

Every Thursday going forward in 2021, one piece a week will be up for auction on Instagram at noon EST and the auction will run for 24 hours.

Each auction will have a starting bid of $35 USD and bidding will close at 11:59am EST on Fridays. The details are: The highest bid wins. To bid on the artwork, you must leave a comment in the Instagram post in US dollars. You need to message me your email, for privacy please do not post it in the comments. Be sure to have the comments sorted by “Newest First” to ensure you can outbid the last person. Only bid in whole numbers. $0.50 bids will be deleted and ignored. All shipping is a $5 flat fee. International sales will be shipped via USPS First-Class Mail International, to the 190 countries listed on the USPS website. You are welcome to pay in USD via PayPal or CC through the invoice.

After 24 hours, I will announce the winners through tagging on the image.  Then I will send you an email with the winning bid amount, with a linked invoice.  You must pay within 2 days, otherwise the art goes to the next bid.  If you do not pay your invoice, you will be blocked from submitting future bids to keep this all fair to all of those involved.

Every piece has a starter bid.  And I am so excited about getting my work out into new homes!
