What is Being Shared Inside the Membership

Yesterday I hosted the monthly live Q&A and painting review inside my painting membership. The work that the students are sharing, the subjects we're exploring, and the discussion was so energizing.

1. and 2. Nancy is completing studies, stretching her drawing and painting skills. I am seeing so much growth in her work. She has been working through the Values and Tonal Quality class, plus completing an edge quality exercise this month. It is exciting to see what she shares inside the forum and in our monthly Q&As.

3. Cathy shared a painting she completed that was inspired by another student’s painting of a white lily in a blue cobalt bottle that was posted inside the community forum. I believe it's one of her best paintings that demonstrates her unique artistic expression, especially with brush handling and color choices. It’s an honor to see this work monthly.

4. Sanchi shared her peony painting that she has been working on, and she did a masterful job on it. She imbued the painting with her highly rendered style making it unique and special.

5. Karen, who is focusing on small studies completed a beautiful painting of Japanese anemones, and she toned her canvas with raw umber. It looks so nice and refined.

6. And Rebecca also worked on peonies too. Her piece is so expressive with her use of brushstrokes that add texture and pattern to the painting.

I am excited about what we will be covering in the next three months.

In November, I will be covering oil painting materials with a focus on paint brushes and painting surfaces. Then in December we will be discussing how to find and support your artistic voice. And we will bring in the new year with January being dedicated to creating goals for 2024 without overwhelm and stress.
