My final session copying Jan Davidsz de Heem’s Vase of Flowers at the NGA here in DC

 

Below are all the blog posts I wrote as I worked my way through this Master copy. I learned a lot completing this painting, one was that Monet used color, but not always the most saturated color on his palette. Instead a color is perceived as a bright and saturated color because of its adjacent colors. Completing this painting was a joy.
